I feel like celebrity coupes HAVE to grace covers of major magazines together in order to be solidified as a real couple, kind of like common folk have to make it “official” on Facebook. Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik have been together for over a year & they opened up about their relationship in the August issue of Vogue Magazine, even about how they wear each other’s clothes. The couple spoke about their style choices, noting that Hadid and Malik are “part of a generation embracing gender fluidity.” “I shop in your closet all the time, don’t I?” asked Hadid, 22. “Yeah, but same,” replied Malik, 24. “What was that T-shirt I borrowed the other day?” “The Anna Sui?” asked Hadid. “Yeah,” Malik said. “I like that shirt. And if it’s tight on me, so what? It doesn’t matter if it was made for a girl.” “Totally,” Hadid said. “It’s not about gender. It’s about, like, shapes. And what feels good on you that day. And anyway, it’s fun to experiment.” The couple is on the cover in what is called “gender-bending looks,” such as tan, corduroy Prada suits and colorful Gucci and Marc Jacobs tracksuits. “With social media, the world’s gotten very small,” Malik later added. “And it can seem like everyone’s doing the same thing. Gender, whatever—you want to make your own statement. You know? You want to feel distinct.” Gotcha. I’ll definitely let my next boyfriend try on my dresses.
